Women's Cross Country Limited at Grand View Meet Due to Injuries, Illness

Battling illness and nagging injuries, only two runners competed for the Culver-Stockton College women's cross country team in the Grand View Viking Invitational Saturday morning at the Des Moines Area Community College Cross Country Course in Ankeny, Iowa.

Junior Faith Younce registered the top time for the Wildcats in the women's five-kilometer race, finishing 31st among the 59 runners competing. Younce averaged 7:17.4 per mile and finished with a time of 22:39.2

Freshman Zoi Smith was the other runner competing for the Wildcats, placing 51st in the event. Smith completed the circuiting 27:21.3, averaging 8:48.2 per mile.

The Wildcats are hopeful to be at full strength when they compete again in two weeks, Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Hannibal-LaGrange Invitational in Hannibal, Mo. The women's race is set to start at 10 a.m.
