Women's Cross Country Tunes Up for Conference Championships with Run at St. Louis Cross Country Classic

The Culver-Stockton women's cross country team competed in its final tune up prior to the conference championships Saturday in the St. Louis Cross Country Classic at Willmore Park in St. Louis, Mo.

The five Wildcat runners posted 65 total points and an overall time of 2:07:57 to finish sixth among the nine teams competing. College of the Ozarks won the event with 26 points and an overall time of 1:37:57 in the five-kilometer distance.

Faith Younce led the Wildcat team with a 17th place finish in a field of 66 runners. Younce completed the circuit in a time of 21:25.1, finishing two seconds behind the 16th place finisher, Mikey Larson of Williams Baptist (Ark.).

Zoi Smith and Morgan Keith finished after Younce, placing 45th and 46th, respectively in the field. Smith recorded a time of 24:52.6, while Keith registered a time of 25:07.9, which was her collegiate-best. Caroline Lindsey finished 46th overall with a time of 26:02.8, and Teya Hawkins placed 61st overall with a time of 30:28.8.

The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Seminole Valley Trail in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The women's race is slated to begin at 12:15 p.m.
