Women's Cross Country Sets Team Record in 5K at Sherrill Fall Classic

Delaney Straus continues to run fast and the Culver-Stockton women's cross country team continues to set records this season.

One week ago, Straus set the school record at the 5-kilometer distance at 19:16.2 at the Indian Hills Invitational. Eight days later Straus smashed that mark in finishing third at the Mikayla Sherrill Fall Classic with a time of 18:59.6. That mark helped the women set a team record for time at 1:47:36 and finish third in the five-team event. College of the Ozarks won the event with a time of 1:39:18. 

Faith Younce run a fantastic race and placed 11th overall with a time of 19:42.8, while Emma Berry finished 16th with a time of 21:34.0. 

Malia Carmack earned a top 25 finish with a time of 22:32.6, good for 23rd overall, Zoi Smith placed 36th overall with a time of 23:47.8. Morgan Keith and Caroline Lindsey finished 40th and 43rd, respectively, registering times of 24:35.5 and 25:39.2. 

The Wildcats are off until the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships which are set for Saturday, Nov. 9, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The men's race is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m.
