Culver-Stockton College soccer player Alayna Chandler-Gutierrez, and football player Demarion Cobb have been named Primo's Pizza and Subs Student-Athletes of the Month for October.

Chandler-Gutierrez, a junior forward from Valley Center, Calif. (Valley Center HS), is a three-year letterwinner with the women's soccer program. This season, Alayna finished with a team-best 14 goals, which was tied for second most in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The 14 goals are also the most by a Wildcat player since Jesse Thomas in 2004. Chandler-Gutierrez also added one assist for a total of 29 points.  

In her career, Chandler-Gutierrez has appeared in 51 career games and netted 21 goals and three assists for 45 career points. The 21 goals are ranked seventh on the school's all-time list while the 45 points are ranked 10^th. Chandler-Gutierrez was named to the all-conference second team in 2024.   

Off the field, Chandler-Gutierrez is pursuing a degree in nursing. She has been named to the President's List in all four completed semesters. Last year, she was named a Daktronics/NAIA Scholar-Athlete and was named to the College Communicator's Academic All-District team. 

Cobb, a senior from Racine, Wis. (St. Catherine), is a four-year letterwinner who has appeared in 38 career games. He has rushed for a team-high 583 yards on 130 attempts, averaging 4.5 yards per carry, and five touchdowns. Cobb also has nine pass receptions for 45 yards. On Oct. 25, Cobb ran for a career high 166 yards on 20 carries and one touchdown against Graceland University. Cobb has two 100-yard rushing games in his career.

In his career, Cobb has rushed for 1,447 yards on 350 carries and scored nine touchdowns. He has averaged 4.1 yards per rush. In addition, Cobb has registered 24 career receptions for 84 yards.

In the classroom, Cobb is pursuing a degree in sport management. He has been named to the school's honors lists after all six completed semesters including the President' List one time, the Provost's List two times, and the Honor Roll three times.

Chandler-Gutierrez and Cobb are the second athletes to be named student-athletes of the month for the 2024-25 school year. Lauren Bloom (women's volleyball) and Gannon McNamee (men's cross country/track and field) were honored in September. The Wildcat Athletic Department picks two student-athletes (one male / one female) each month throughout the school year recognizing students for their academic and athletic achievements.
